07Brass & bronze castings

Brass and bronze castings, machined to size

Copper alloys earn their place where iron and aluminium struggle: running against a steel shaft, or sitting in water and chemicals that would rust an iron part. We pour brass and bronze alongside our iron and aluminium work.

Why a copper alloy

Two properties do most of the work:

  • Bearing behaviour: bronze runs against a steel shaft with far less wear and seizure than iron
  • Corrosion resistance: brass and bronze survive water, steam and many chemicals
  • It machines cleanly, which matters on bushes and valve parts with fine detail

Typical components

Bushes and bearing shells, wear strips, valve bodies and seats, pump components and impeller parts, and replacement bushes for machinery where the original is no longer available.

Machined here too

Bushes and bearing parts are only as good as their bores. Turning, boring and facing are done in our own machine shop, so you receive a finished part rather than a rough casting to take elsewhere.

From a worn original

A worn bush is one of the easiest things to reproduce: we measure the housing and the shaft as well as the old part, so the new one is made to the fit you actually need rather than copied at its worn size.

05FAQ

Questions customers ask

Can you match the exact alloy of my old part?

Tell us what the part does and where it runs, and we will recommend the alloy family. If your drawing specifies a grade, we will confirm whether we can pour it before you order. Chemical analysis, where it is required for proof, is done at an outside laboratory.

Do you supply bushes finished to size?

Yes. Send the shaft and housing dimensions, or the parts themselves, and we will machine the bush to the fit you need rather than to a nominal size.

Minimum quantity?

One piece. Single replacement bushes are routine work here.

Tell us what you need made.

A drawing, a CAD file or a worn sample part is enough to start. We are in Korangi, Karachi, and we answer on WhatsApp.
