About this part
Everything on this part is about running true. The wheel-mounting flange is faced flat and drilled with six stud holes, and the centre is bored for the bearing seats with a thread cut at the outer end. If the bearing seats and the flange are not concentric, the wheel wobbles and the bearings go early, so these features are machined in a controlled set-up and checked before the hub leaves.
How we make it
- Sand cast in SG (ductile) iron
- Wheel flange faced flat
- Six stud holes drilled
- Bearing seats bored and internal thread cut
- Dimensional and visual checks; laboratory testing arranged outside when a drawing calls for it
Do you supply hubs with bearings fitted?
We supply the machined hub. Tell us what bearing you use and we will machine the seats to suit it.
Can you match a worn hub I send?
Yes. We measure the sample, restore the worn surfaces in the model and make the pattern from that.
